Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 is just a bit better than the Acer Iconia W4, with a 63.4 score against 59.3. Microsoft Surface 2's design is thinner but notably heavier than Acer Iconia W4. Both of these devices include Windows OS, but the Microsoft Surface 2 has a more recent RT 8.1 version while Acer Iconia W4 has Windows 8.1.
Acer Iconia W4 features a little sharper screen than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a lot smaller screen, a just a bit lower screen pixel density and a lot lower 800 x 1280px resolution. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit more powerful processor than Acer Iconia W4. Both have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount.
The Acer Iconia W4 captures much better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface 2. They have the same video frame rate, a 5 MP resolution back facing camera and the same 1920x1080 video quality. The Acer Iconia W4's memory capacity for games and applications is very similar to Microsoft Surface 2's one, and although the Acer Iconia W4 has no external memory slot, they both have the same internal memory capacity.
Acer Iconia W4 has a way better battery life than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Acer Iconia W4, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Acer Iconia W4. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, else you can save some money and get the Acer Iconia W4, letting go a couple specs and features.
