Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 has a global score of 63.4, which is a little bit better than Asus MeMO Pad 8's 61.2 general score. Microsoft Surface 2 has Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Asus MeMO Pad 8 comes with Android 4.4 operating system. Although it's the best we compare here, Microsoft Surface 2 is a thicker and a lot heavier tablet device than the Asus MeMO Pad 8.
Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Microsoft Surface 2. Both of them have a Quad-Core processing unit and 2 GB of RAM memory. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has just a bit better display than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1920 x 1200px and a greater count of pixels per screen inch.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a bit more memory capacity for games and applications than Asus MeMO Pad 8, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory. The Microsoft Surface 2 and the Asus MeMO Pad 8 have quite similar batteries duration. Asus MeMO Pad 8's camera is just as good as the camera in Microsoft Surface 2, both of them have a camera with a 5 megapixels resolution, the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Asus MeMO Pad 8. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy the Asus MeMO Pad 8, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
