Microsoft Surface 2 is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), getting a 63.4 score against 60.7. Microsoft Surface 2 has Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) works with Android 4.1 operating system. The Microsoft Surface 2 is a newer and somewhat thinner tablet than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), although it's also way heavier.

Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a lot larger display, a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a little greater pixels density. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a better performance than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a larger amount of RAM memory and more CPU cores.

Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) counts with a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a camera with lot less MP resolution and a lot worse video definition. Microsoft Surface 2 has just a bit bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) counts with a very superior battery life than Microsoft Surface 2.

Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, else you can save some dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), resigning a couple specifications.
