Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, having a 63.4 score against 62.8. Although it's the best in this review, the Microsoft Surface 2 body is older, heavier and thicker than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0. The Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 comes with Android 7.1 Nougat OS.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a little faster CPU than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a larger amount of RAM. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920px, a lot larger display and a better screen density.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0's camera is just as good as the Microsoft Surface 2 one, both have a 5 mega-pixels resolution camera in the back, the same (HD) video definition and the same video frame rates. Microsoft Surface 2 has a bigger memory for apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 48 GB more internal memory.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a really longer battery life than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab A 8.0. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, resigning some features and specs.
