Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, with a overall score of 63.4 against 60.5. Even being the best in this review, Microsoft Surface 2's body is older, somewhat thicker and extremely heavier than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 comes with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.
The Microsoft Surface 2 has just a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Microsoft Surface 2 features a way better screen than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a way better 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, a much greater count of pixels per inch in the screen and a bit larger display.
Galaxy Tab A 9.7's camera is just as good as the Microsoft Surface 2 one, both of them have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition, a back-facing camera with a 5 mega pixels resolution and the same video frame rate. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 48 GB more internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab A 9.7. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, letting go some specs and features.
