Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 has a general score of 63.4, which is just a bit better than Xperia Tablet S's general score of 58.9. Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Xperia Tablet S works with Android 4.1.1 operating system. Microsoft Surface 2's body is newer and extremely thinner than the Xperia Tablet S's, although it's somewhat heavier.
Microsoft Surface 2 features a bit more vivid display than Xperia Tablet S, because it has a lot higher 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, more pixels per inch of screen and a quite bigger display. The Xperia Tablet S counts with much more memory to store more games and applications than Microsoft Surface 2. Both of them have equal internal memory capacity.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Xperia Tablet S, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, and they both have 4 CPU cores, the Microsoft Surface 2 also counts with more RAM memory. Microsoft Surface 2 shoots slightly better videos and photos than Sony Xperia Tablet S, although it has a way less megapixels camera.
The Sony Xperia Tablet S's battery lifetime is just as good as the battery life in Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xperia Tablet S, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xperia Tablet S. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xperia Tablet S, letting go some specifications.
