Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 3 is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), getting a score of 66.3 against 58.6. The Microsoft Surface 3 is a older and noticeably heavier device than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Microsoft was able to build it thinner anyway. Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Microsoft Surface 3, although it has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
The Microsoft Surface 3 features a little bit better screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a way higher 1920 x 1280 resolution, a little bit greater pixels count in each inch of display and a lot larger screen. Microsoft Surface 3 takes much better videos and photos than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a camera with lot more MP and a much better (Full HD) video resolution.
Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has just a bit more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 1000 GB. The Microsoft Surface 3 and the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) feature similar battery performance.
Although Microsoft Surface 3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020). If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
