The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a score of 67.9, which is just a bit better than the Microsoft Surface Go's 66.5 score. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 comes with Android 4.4 operating system, and Microsoft Surface Go has Windows 10 operating system. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 body is noticeably lighter and just a little thinner than the Microsoft Surface Go, although it was released 4 years before.

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with an incredibly better screen than Microsoft Surface Go, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a better 1600 x 2560px resolution and a much better pixels count per screen inch. Microsoft Surface Go has a very superior storage capacity to install games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 64 GB more internal storage.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a little bit better performance than Microsoft Surface Go, because although it has 6 GB less RAM memory, it also counts with a greater number of faster cores. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's battery lifetime is very similar to the Microsoft Surface Go one. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Go. Both have the same video frame rate, a camera in the back with an 8 mega pixels resolution and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.

Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it costs more money than the Microsoft Surface Go, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Microsoft Surface Go. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Microsoft Surface Go, letting go a couple features and specifications.
