Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 works with Android 4.4.2 OS, and Microsoft Surface Pro has Windows 8 Pro OS. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4's design is newer, a lot thinner and way lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much better looking screen than Microsoft Surface Pro, because although it has a lot smaller display, it also counts with a better 2560 x 1600px resolution and a much higher pixels count per screen inch. Microsoft Surface Pro features a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal storage capacity.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a processor that is just as good as the Microsoft Surface Pro one, because although the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a smaller amount of RAM and doesn't have an extra GPU, it also counts with more cpu cores. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 takes greater videos and photos than Microsoft Surface Pro, because it has a much higher 8 mega pixels resolution camera and a way better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
