Comparison review
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is slightly better than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, having a 67.9 score against 65.1. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 design is newer, much lighter and thinner than the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 works with Android 4.4 operating system, while Microsoft Surface Pro 2 comes with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a lot better looking display than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better display density and a better 1600 x 2560px resolution. Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a very superior memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 512 GB internal memory.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with more cpu cores. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's battery lifetime is very similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 one. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes way better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because it has a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and give up a couple features, but you will get the most with your budget.
