Even being the best portable tablet we compare here, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 design is older, way heavier and way thicker than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 counts with a better looking display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a way larger screen, a greater display density and a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 features a superior memory capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal memory.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a bit better processing unit than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has an inferior number of cores (although they are faster), it also counts with 6,5 GB more RAM. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a really longer battery performance than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a greater camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Both have the same (HD) video quality and the same video frame rates.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab A 8.0. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Microsoft Surface Pro 2, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, giving up a couple specifications.
