Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a general score of 67, which is just a bit better than Microsoft Surface Pro 2's score of 65.1. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a newer portable tablet, and it's also noticeably thinner and way lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active comes with Android 4.4 operating system, while Microsoft Surface Pro 2 comes with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 features a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has a lower number of cores and doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a greater amount of RAM. Galaxy Tab Active features a bit better display than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, although it has a little lower count of pixels per inch of display, a lot smaller screen and a lot lower 1280 x 800 pixels resolution.
Galaxy Tab Active has a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Both have the same video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate. Microsoft Surface Pro 2 counts with much more memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
Galaxy Tab Active features a much better battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro 2.
Although Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Microsoft Surface Pro 2. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Microsoft Surface Pro 2, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
