The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) is a lot better than Xperia Tablet Z, getting a overall score of 82.4 against 68.5. Even though Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) is much newer than the Xperia Tablet Z, it is somewhat thicker and heavier. The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) comes with Windows 10 Pro operating system, and Xperia Tablet Z counts with Android 4.4.4 operating system.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with just a bit better display than Microsoft Surface Pro (2017), although it has a way worse resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, a little bit lower display pixels density and a quite smaller display. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit and less cores (although faster), it also counts with 14 GB more RAM memory.

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) has a very superior memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 968 GB more internal storage capacity.
