Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, with a 68.5 score against 66.3. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has Windows 8.1 Pro OS, while Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with Android 4.4 OS. Although it's the best in this comparison review, it must be told that it's also heavier and thicker.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a little faster processor than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with 2 more cpu cores. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a much better display than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a really smaller display, it also counts with a much higher pixels quantity per inch in the screen and a little bit higher 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a much better storage capacity for applications and games than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 256 GB internal memory capacity. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes much better videos and photos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a lot better 8 MP resolution back camera.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 have quite similar batteries performance.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a bit more expensive than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
