Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has an overall score of 72.2, which is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s score of 58.6. Despite of the fact the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is noticeably older and way heavier than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), it's construction is still a little thinner. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has Windows 8.1 Pro OS, and Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie OS.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a better looking screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a little bit greater screen pixels density, a way bigger screen and a way higher 1440 x 2160px resolution. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a way bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 480 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a little bit better processing power than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has 6 GB less RAM, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 shoots much clearer pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a back facing camera with a lot better 5 mega pixels resolution and a lot higher video resolution.

So if you want that extra features, you can buy Microsoft Surface Pro 3, otherwise you can save some money and get the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), letting go some features and specs.
