Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is slightly better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, getting a 72.2 score against 67.9. Although it's the best tablet in this review, Microsoft Surface Pro 3's construction is heavier and thicker than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 comes with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system, and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with Android 4.4 operating system.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a brighter screen than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a lot smaller display, it also counts with a little higher 1600 x 2560 resolution and a way greater pixel density. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a way bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because it has 512 GB internal storage.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has 6 GB less RAM memory, it also counts with a higher number of cores. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 takes much better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video quality, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a way better resolution camera.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a battery performance that's just as good as the battery duration in Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
