Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a score of 72.2, which is a little bit better than Samsung ATIV Tab 5's global score of 69.2. These devices work with Windows operating system, but the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a more recent 8.1 Pro version while Samsung ATIV Tab 5 has Windows 8, so it provides you some nice extra features and increased performance. Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is just a little bit heavier than the Samsung ATIV Tab 5, it's a little bit thinner and newer.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 also has 6 GB more RAM. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a little sharper screen than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, because it has a much greater quantity of pixels per inch of display, a lot better resolution of 1440 x 2160px and a quite bigger display.
Samsung ATIV Tab 5 shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because it has a lot more megapixels back-facing camera. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a very superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage capacity.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung ATIV Tab 5. If you are trying to save some money, you can get the Samsung ATIV Tab 5, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
