Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is slightly better than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, with a 72.2 score against 68.5. Even though the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is newer than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, it is incredibly heavier and a lot thicker. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 comes with Windows 8.1 Pro OS, while Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with Android 4.4.4 OS.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a bit faster processor than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has lesser RAM, it also counts with a GPU and a higher number of cores. The Xperia Tablet Z has just a bit better looking screen than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a little smaller screen and a quite lower resolution of 1200 x 1920px, it also counts with a little higher pixel count per screen inch.
