Comparison review

The Acer Iconia W700 is slightly better than the Microsoft Surface RT, having a global score of 59.6 against 58.4. Even being the best device we compare here, we must tell that it is also much heavier and thicker. Both devices in this review come with Windows operating system, but the Acer Iconia W700 has the previous 8 Pro version and Microsoft Surface RT has Windows RT version.

The Acer Iconia W700 has just a bit better performance than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has an inferior number of cores (although they are faster), it also counts with a faster graphics processor running at 650 MHz and a greater amount of RAM. The Acer Iconia W700 has a bit more vivid screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because it has a little bit larger display, a greater pixels quantity in each inch in the screen and a higher 1080 x 1920 resolution.

The Acer Iconia W700 captures a lot better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same video definition, the Acer Iconia W700 also has a back facing camera with much more mega-pixels. Acer Iconia W700 has a superior storage for games and applications than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.

Microsoft Surface RT and Acer Iconia W700 feature extremely similar batteries.

Although Acer Iconia W700 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Acer Iconia W700, otherwise you can save some money and get the Microsoft Surface RT, giving up some specs and features.
