Comparison review
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an overall score of 67.9, which is better than Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 overall score. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 construction is extremely newer, thinner and a lot lighter than the Microsoft Surface RT. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with Android 4.4 operating system, while Microsoft Surface RT counts with Windows RT operating system.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a bit better processing power than Microsoft Surface RT, although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, they both have the same RAM memory amount and a Quad-Core CPU. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a much better looking display than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a much greater display density and a much better resolution of 1600 x 2560.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's storage capacity to install applications and games is just as good as Microsoft Surface RT's one, and although the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has no external memory card slot, they both have equal internal memory capacity. Microsoft Surface RT and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 both feature very similar batteries.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 captures much clearer photos and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same video quality, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has a way higher 8 megapixels resolution back camera.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, else you can save some money and buy the Microsoft Surface RT, resigning some specifications.
