Comparison review
The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is just a bit better than the Microsoft Surface RT, getting a score of 61.2 against 58.4. Asus MeMO Pad 8 works with Android 4.4 operating system, while Microsoft Surface RT comes with Windows RT operating system. Asus MeMO Pad 8's body is newer, noticeably thinner and incredibly lighter than Microsoft Surface RT.
The Asus MeMO Pad 8 features a brighter screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a really smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a way higher screen density. Microsoft Surface RT features a little bit more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Asus MeMO Pad 8, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal storage.
The Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with a little faster CPU than Microsoft Surface RT, although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, they both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 and Microsoft Surface RT have similar battery performance. Asus MeMO Pad 8 captures much better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same 1280x720 video quality and the same video frame rate, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 also has a back camera with a lot better 5 MP resolution.
Although Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a better device, it is more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Microsoft Surface RT. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Microsoft Surface RT, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
