Comparison review
Samsung Ativ Tab has a global score of 66.7, which is better than the Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 general score. Even when Samsung Ativ Tab and the Microsoft Surface RT were only released with a few months difference, Samsung Ativ Tab is somewhat lighter and a bit thinner. Both tablets in this review have the same Windows RT operating system.
The Microsoft Surface RT features just a bit better performance than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory, the Microsoft Surface RT also has a greater number of cores and a much better graphics co-processor. The Microsoft Surface RT and the Samsung Ativ Tab feature similar screens, because although the Samsung Ativ Tab has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 768 x 1366 resolution, it also counts with a little more pixels per inch in the display.
Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a way bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Microsoft Surface RT. They have equal internal memory. Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a really longer battery life than Microsoft Surface RT. Samsung Ativ Tab has a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a back camera with way more mega-pixels.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Microsoft Surface RT. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Samsung Ativ Tab, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Microsoft Surface RT, resigning a couple features and specs.
