The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a score of 65.7, which is much better than the Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 score. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) design is noticeably newer, much lighter and a little thinner than the Microsoft Surface RT. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has Android 9.0 Pie OS, while Microsoft Surface RT comes with Windows RT OS.

Microsoft Surface RT has a bit superior processor than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU and the same RAM amount, the Microsoft Surface RT also has an extra graphics co-processor.
