Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a global score of 67, which is better than the Microsoft Surface RT's score of 58.4. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has Android 4.4 operating system, and Microsoft Surface RT comes with Windows RT operating system. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a little thicker than the Microsoft Surface RT, it's noticeably lighter and also newer.
The Microsoft Surface RT counts with a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface RT also has a better graphics processing unit and a higher amount of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features a brighter display than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a little bit worse 1280 x 800 resolution and a really smaller display, it also counts with a greater quantity of pixels per screen inch.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active takes much clearer photos and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (HD) video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also has a back facing camera with a much higher resolution. The Microsoft Surface RT counts with a lot bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features a much better battery performance than Microsoft Surface RT.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, else you can save some money and get the Microsoft Surface RT, resigning a couple specifications.
