Xperia Tablet S has an overall score of 58.9, which is slightly better than the Microsoft Surface RT's global score of 58.4. Xperia Tablet S counts with Android 4.1.1 operating system, while Microsoft Surface RT comes with Windows RT operating system. Even though the Xperia Tablet S and Microsoft Surface RT were released with only 2 months difference, the Xperia Tablet S body is extremely thicker but also lighter than Microsoft Surface RT.

Xperia Tablet S features just a bit better looking screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a little bit worse 800 x 1280 resolution and a little smaller display, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch of screen. Microsoft Surface RT has a bit better performance than Sony Xperia Tablet S, and although they both have 4 processing cores, the Microsoft Surface RT also has a higher amount of RAM and a faster GPU.

Xperia Tablet S has a much better storage capacity to store more games and applications than Microsoft Surface RT. They have the same 64 GB internal memory. Xperia Tablet S features a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface RT, because it has a camera in the back with a lot better resolution. Xperia Tablet S counts with a battery lifetime that is just as good as the battery life in Microsoft Surface RT.

Although Sony Xperia Tablet S is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia Tablet S, else you can save some dollars and get the Microsoft Surface RT, resigning some specs and features.
