Xperia Tablet Z is better than Microsoft Surface RT, with a global score of 68.5 against 58.4. Xperia Tablet Z is a a lot thinner and incredibly lighter tablet than the Microsoft Surface RT, even when they were only released 7 months apart. Xperia Tablet Z works with Android 4.4.4 operating system, while Microsoft Surface RT works with Windows RT operating system.
Xperia Tablet Z counts with a better screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a much better 1200 x 1920px resolution and much more pixels per display inch. The Xperia Tablet Z features a CPU that is very similar to the Microsoft Surface RT one, and although the Xperia Tablet Z has a worse GPU working at 400 megahertz, they both have 4 CPU cores and the same RAM memory amount.
The Microsoft Surface RT has slightly more memory for apps and games than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal memory capacity. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much better camera than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video resolution, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a much better resolution back camera.

Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia Tablet Z, else you can save some money and buy the Microsoft Surface RT, letting go some features and specs.
