Comparison review

The Sony Tablet S has a global score of 57.5, which is a bit better than the Motorola XOOM's global score of 55.9. Although the Sony Tablet S and Motorola XOOM were released with only 2 months difference, the Sony Tablet S is much thinner and somewhat lighter. Both tablets in this comparison use the same Android 4.0 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't see any differences regarding OS features.

Sony Tablet S counts with a bit sharper display than Motorola XOOM, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have an equal resolution of 800 x 1280px, the Sony Tablet S also counts with a bit higher number of pixels in each inch of screen. The Motorola XOOM and the Sony Tablet S feature extremely similar storage for applications and games, they have equal internal memory capacity and a SD extension slot that admits up to 32 GB.

Sony Tablet S's processing unit is just as good as the Motorola XOOM one, they have the same RAM memory amount and the same number of cores. The Sony Tablet S counts with a very superior battery performance than Motorola XOOM. The Motorola XOOM takes clearer videos and photos than Sony Tablet S. Both of them have the same video frame rates, the same 1280x720 video quality and the same resolution back-facing camera.

Although Sony Tablet S is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Motorola XOOM, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola XOOM. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Sony Tablet S, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Motorola XOOM, giving up some specs and features.
