Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a bit better than the Samsung Ativ Tab, getting a global score of 67.9 against 66.7. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 OS, while Samsung Ativ Tab comes with Windows RT OS. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 design is incredibly newer, somewhat thinner and way lighter than Samsung Ativ Tab.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with an incredibly better screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a lot greater number of pixels per inch in the display and a way better 1600 x 2560 resolution. Samsung Ativ Tab features a superior memory capacity for games and applications than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 64 GB.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit better CPU than Samsung Ativ Tab, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor, and they both have a 2 GB RAM, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with more CPU cores. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 shoots better pictures and videos than Samsung Ativ Tab, because it has a camera in the back with a way better resolution and a lot better 1920x1080 video quality.
The Samsung Ativ Tab features a superior battery performance than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Even being the best tablet in this comparison, Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is also by far the cheapest one, which makes this tablet an obvious call.
