Comparison review
Samsung Ativ Tab has a global score of 66.7, which is much better than Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 general score. The Samsung Ativ Tab is a a bit thinner and somewhat lighter portable tablet than the Microsoft Surface RT, even when they were released with only a few months difference. Both of these tablets work with the same Windows RT OS (operating system), so they should offer the same operating system features.
Microsoft Surface RT has a display that is very similar to Samsung Ativ Tab's screen, because although the Microsoft Surface RT has a little bit lower pixels number per screen inch, and they both have exactly the same 768 x 1366px resolution, it also counts with a little larger screen. Samsung Ativ Tab has a much better memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Microsoft Surface RT. Both have exactly the same internal storage.
Microsoft Surface RT features a bit better performance than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory, the Microsoft Surface RT also has a much better graphics processor and a greater number of cores. Samsung Ativ Tab features a much better camera than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a lot more megapixels camera in the back.
Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface RT.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more than Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Microsoft Surface RT. If you are trying to save some money, you can get Microsoft Surface RT, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
