Samsung Ativ Tab has a global score of 66.7, which is slightly better than Galaxy Tab A 8.0's score of 62.8. The Samsung Ativ Tab comes with Windows RT OS, while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Samsung Ativ Tab's design is way older, a lot heavier and somewhat thicker than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0.
Samsung Ativ Tab features a little better performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has less cores (although faster), it also counts with a graphics processor and a higher amount of RAM. Samsung Ativ Tab features a little sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a little bit lower pixels quantity per inch of display, it also counts with a slightly better 768 x 1366 resolution and a bigger screen.
Galaxy Tab A 8.0's camera is very similar to the camera in Samsung Ativ Tab, both of them have the same video frame rates, the same (HD) video resolution and a same resolution back facing camera. The Samsung Ativ Tab features a superior memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has an external memory card slot that supports 64 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory.
The Samsung Ativ Tab features a really longer battery life than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has an 8200mAh battery size.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab A 8.0. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, giving up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
