Samsung Ativ Tab has a score of 66.7, which is much better than Galaxy Tab A 9.7's overall score of 60.5. The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with Windows RT OS, while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Even though Samsung Ativ Tab is a better portable tablet than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, it must be noted that it's also much older, way heavier and somewhat thicker.
Samsung Ativ Tab features a more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a little bit bigger display, a little better screen pixel density and a bit higher resolution of 768 x 1366. Samsung Ativ Tab features a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has lesser cpu cores (although they are faster), it also counts with an extra graphics processor and 512 MB more RAM memory.
Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports 64 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal memory. Samsung Ativ Tab features a superior battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a 37% more battery capacity.
The Galaxy Tab A 9.7's camera is just as good as the Samsung Ativ Tab one, both have the same video frame rate, the same 1280x720 video quality and a back-facing camera with a 5 MP.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab A 9.7. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, letting go a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
