Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a little bit better than the Samsung Ativ Tab, having a overall score of 68.5 against 66.7. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z comes with Android 4.4.4 operating system, while Samsung Ativ Tab has Windows RT operating system. Sony Xperia Tablet Z's design is way thinner and somewhat lighter than the Samsung Ativ Tab, although they were released only a few months apart.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a bit better processor than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM and a 400 MHz graphics processor, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has 2 more cpu cores. The Xperia Tablet Z has a more vivid screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a way better 1200 x 1920px resolution and a greater pixels density.
Xperia Tablet Z takes slightly better videos and photos than Samsung Ativ Tab, because it has a back camera with much more mega pixels and a way higher 1920x1080 video resolution. Samsung Ativ Tab features much more memory capacity for applications and games than Xperia Tablet Z, and although they both have a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 64 GB, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has 64 GB internal storage.
The Samsung Ativ Tab has a much better battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because it has a 37% more battery size.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is more expensive than the Samsung Ativ Tab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Ativ Tab. If you want to save some dollars, you can get Samsung Ativ Tab, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
