The Galaxy Note 10.1 is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), getting a score of 66.3 against 60.4. These tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Note 10.1 has older 4.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has Android 5.1 Lollipop version. Galaxy Note 10.1's construction is extremely older, much heavier and a bit thicker than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016).

Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Note 10.1, because although it has a lot smaller screen, and they both have the same exact resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also counts with a greater quantity of pixels per inch in the display. Galaxy Note 10.1 has much more storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 32 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 56 GB more internal memory.

If you are trying to save some money, you can get Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
