Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), with a 65 score against 60.7. Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T)'s body is just a bit thinner but way heavier than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and they were released only a couple months apart. These devices use the same Android 4.1 operating system, so you shouldn't perceive any difference regarding operating system features.
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) counts with a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and although they both have a 1 GB RAM memory and 2 CPU cores, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) also has a graphics processor. The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), because although it has a lot smaller display and a much lower resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, it also counts with a bit greater display pixels density.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has a much better camera than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T). Both have the same video frame rate, the same 1280x720 video definition and a back facing camera with a 3 mega-pixels. Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) counts with a very superior memory to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have a SD extension slot that holds up to 32 GB, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) also has 32 GB internal memory.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has a really longer battery life than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has 7000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
