The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), with a global score of 68.7 against 65. Both tablets in this review come with Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a more recent 4.2.2 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has Android 4.1. The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch construction is lighter and notably thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), even though both were only released 8 months apart.
Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch features a bit faster processor than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have a Dual-Core CPU, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has a better graphics co-processor and more RAM. Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) features a slightly better screen than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although it has a little worse pixel number in each inch of screen, and they both have the same resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) also counts with a larger screen.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a way better camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same (HD) video resolution, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has a way more megapixels back-facing camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has much more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), because it has a SD extension slot that admits up to 64 GB and more internal memory.
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has a much better battery life than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a 7000mAh battery size.
