Both devices we are comparing work with Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 has a newer 4.4.2 version and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1, so it offers a lot of extra features and optimized performance. Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is a way lighter and somewhat thinner device than Xperia Tablet S, even when both of them were only released 8 months apart.

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 has a bit better display than Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a much lower 600 x 1024 resolution and a much smaller screen, it also counts with a bit greater screen density. The Xperia Tablet S counts with a much better storage to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because it has more internal memory capacity and an external memory card slot that admits up to 128 GB.

The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 counts with a little bit better performance than Xperia Tablet S, because although it has lesser cpu cores (but faster), it also counts with a faster GPU and more RAM. The Sony Xperia Tablet S captures just a bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because it has a back-facing camera with much more mega-pixels.

The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 features a way better battery life than Sony Xperia Tablet S.

The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is not only the best tablets of the ones in this comparison, but it's also a bargain compared to the other ones.
