Comparison review
Xperia Tablet Z is a bit better than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, getting a score of 68.5 against 66.5. Although the Xperia Tablet Z and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 were only released with a couple of months difference, Xperia Tablet Z's construction is noticeably heavier but incredibly thinner. Both devices in this comparison review have Android OS, but the Xperia Tablet Z has a more recent 4.4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 has Android 4.4.2 version, providing you a couple nice extra features.
Xperia Tablet Z counts with just a bit better looking display than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because it has a way higher 1200 x 1920px resolution, a higher display density and a really bigger screen. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much greater memory capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and although they both have an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has 32 GB internal memory.
The Xperia Tablet Z's processing unit is just as good as the CPU in Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because although the Xperia Tablet Z has a slower graphics processor running at 400 megahertz, it also counts with a higher number of cores and a greater amount of RAM. The Xperia Tablet Z has a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because it has a 50% more battery size.
Xperia Tablet Z captures much better photographs and videos than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, because it has a camera in the back with a way better resolution.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, giving up a couple features and specifications.
