Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a score of 72.2, which is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch's general score of 68.7. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 body is newer than the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch's, but it's extremely heavier and thicker. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has Windows 8.1 Pro OS, and Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has Android 4.2.2 OS.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a slightly better looking display than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a bit better display pixel density, a lot better resolution of 1440 x 2160 and a lot larger display. Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch features a bit faster processor than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has lesser RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also counts with an extra graphics co-processor.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with a better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Both of them have the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution, the same video frame rate and a 5 mega-pixels camera in the back. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory capacity.

So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, letting go some specs and features.
