The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), getting a 68.7 score against 65. Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) were only released with a couple months difference, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is notably thinner and a lot lighter. Both tablets in this comparison review use Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a more recent 4.2.2 version while Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has Android 4.1, offering a couple nice extra features.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) counts with a bit better screen than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although it has a little worse number of pixels per inch of screen, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) also counts with a bigger display.
Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch features a way bigger storage to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), because it has an external SD slot that allows up to 64 GB and 16 GB more internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with just a little better performance than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has a faster 1064 MHz graphics co-processor and a greater amount of RAM.
Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch takes a lot better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same video definition, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has a lot more megapixels camera in the back. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) features a very superior battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a 7000mAh battery size.
