The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a bit better than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, having a 74.5 score against 68.7. Both devices in this review use Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the newer 4.4.2 version and Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has Android 4.2.2, providing some additional features and enhanced performance. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a newer tablet, and it's also just a little lighter and somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a lot better looking display than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a quite bigger screen, a much higher display pixels density and a lot better resolution of 2560 x 1600px. Galaxy Tab S 8.4's CPU is just as good as the processing unit in Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, it also counts with a greater amount of RAM and more CPU cores.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a little bit more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, and although they both have equal 32 GB internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has an external memory slot that allows up to 128 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has just a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a camera with a much higher 8 mega-pixels resolution and a lot better video resolution. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a little longer battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a 10 percent greater battery capacity.
In addition to being the best tablet in our current comparison, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is also a bargain compared to others.
