The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a global score of 69.8, which is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch's general score of 68.7. These tablets work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Z2 Tablet has newer 4.4.4 version and Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has Android 4.2.2, so it gives you some nice extra features. Although Xperia Z2 Tablet and the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch were released only a couple months apart, the Xperia Z2 Tablet design is thinner but also noticeably heavier.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a brighter screen than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a just a little higher count of pixels per screen inch, a way higher resolution of 1200 x 1920px and a larger screen. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has much more storage to install applications and games than Xperia Z2 Tablet, and although they both have an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has more internal memory.
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet counts with a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although it has a weaker graphics co-processor running at 450 megahertz, it also counts with a larger amount of RAM and more cores. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet features greater battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with a little bit better camera than Xperia Z2 Tablet, although it has a camera in the back with a much worse resolution and a lot worse video quality.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet costs a little more than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
