Although Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and the Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids were released with only a few months difference, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9's design is notably heavier but also thinner than the Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids. These devices include Android operating system, but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has newer 4.2.2 version and Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids has Android 4.1 version.
