The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has an overall score of 74.6, which is much better than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1's 67.8 general score. Both of these tablets work with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has Android 4.4.2, so it provides you a couple nice extra features and a performance increase. The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) construction is notably newer, a bit thinner and much lighter than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a little sharper display than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a much greater display pixels density and a lot higher 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution.
