Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has an overall score of 69.8, which is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1's 67.8 global score. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet body is just a bit lighter and somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, although both were released only 1 months apart. These devices use Android OS (operating system), but the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has a newer 4.4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has Android 4.4.2 version.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet features a brighter display than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and although they both have a same size display, the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet also has a lot better resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a lot more pixels per inch of screen. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet counts with a better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and although they both have 4 cpu cores and a 450 megahertz graphics co-processor, the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a little bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because it has a camera in the back with a lot higher resolution and a way better 1920x1080 video definition. Xperia Z2 Tablet and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 both count with very similar memory for games and applications, both have a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 64 GB and the same 16 GB internal memory.
Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 counts with a bit better battery life than Xperia Z2 Tablet, because it has 6800mAh of battery capacity against 6000mAh.
Although Xperia Z2 Tablet is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia Z2 Tablet, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, resigning a couple features and specifications.
