Although the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 were released with only a couple months difference, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 design is noticeably heavier but also somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. Both of these devices include Android OS, but the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an older 4.4 version and Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has Android 4.4.2 version.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a better looking screen than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because it has a way higher 1600 x 2560 resolution, a bigger display and a much higher quantity of pixels per display inch. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a better performing CPU than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and although they both have a Quad-Core processor, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has 512 MB more RAM memory.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a way bigger storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 counts with a slightly better camera than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for taking pictures and/or video in low-light situations, a way lower 1280x720 video resolution and a much lower resolution back camera.
