The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has a global score of 70.2, which is much better than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s general score of 58.6. Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is a much older and noticeably heavier portable tablet than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Samsung managed to make it somewhat thinner anyway. These tablets come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has the older 8.1 Oreo version and Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) features a CPU that's just as good as Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016)'s CPU, and although the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has 4 lesser processing cores (but faster), they both have 2 GB of RAM memory. Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a bit more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a larger display, a lot better resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a bit better pixels density.
