Galaxy Tab A 10.5's construction is notably newer and a bit thinner, but also just a little heavier than the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016). Both of these tablets have Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has Android 8.1 Oreo, giving some nice extra features and a performance increase.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 features a display that's very similar to the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) one, because although the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a just a bit worse pixels density, and they both have an equal 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution, it also counts with a quite larger display. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has just a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
Galaxy Tab A 10.5 counts with a much greater memory capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), because it has an external SD slot that allows up to 400 GB and more internal memory. Galaxy Tab A 10.5's battery life is just as good as the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) one.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5's camera is just as good as the camera in Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), both of them have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the same resolution back-facing camera, the same video definition and a F1.9 diafragm aperture.
