Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has an overall score of 74.5, which is a lot better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s 58.6 overall score. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is an older and noticeably heavier tablet than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Samsung managed to build it thinner anyway. Both of these tablets include the same Android 9.0 Pie OS, so both should give you all the same OS features.
