Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), getting a general score of 74.5 against 70.2. Both of these tablets have Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has Android 8.1 Oreo version, so it offers a couple additional features. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5's body is noticeably newer and just a little bit thinner than the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016)'s, but it's also a little bit heavier.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 counts with a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 also has 1 GB more RAM. Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) counts with a display that's very similar to Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5's display, because although the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, it also counts with a quite greater number of pixels per inch in the screen.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016)'s camera is very similar to the camera in Galaxy Tab A 10.5, they have the same aperture, a same resolution back facing camera, the same video frame rates and the same 1920x1080 video definition. Galaxy Tab A 10.5 counts with much more storage capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), because it has 32 GB internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB.
