Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a score of 60.4, which is a little bit better than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020)'s 59.7 global score. Both tablets in this review use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab A (2016) has an older 5.1 Lollipop version and Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie. Even though the Galaxy Tab A (2016) is incredibly older than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), it's design is thinner and extremely lighter.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab A (2016), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) also has a higher amount of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a bit more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) also counts with a just a bit higher screen pixel density.

Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has a much bigger memory for games and applications than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has an external memory slot that supports up to 1000 GB and 32 GB internal storage capacity. Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a much longer battery performance than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a way better camera than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a back camera with way more MP.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) is a better device, it is more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020). So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), letting go some features and specifications.
